Von Haus zu Haus muss die Postbotin Paulina eilen. Sie hat einen Stapel Briefe dabei – für das Marienkäferchen, die Grille, die Raupe, die Maus, den Maulwurf und für den Igel. Ein jeder liest, freut sich sehr und – einer nach dem anderen – verlässt das Haus und läuft los. Doch wohin? Das ist ein Rätsel. Jedes ihrer ungewöhnlichen Häuser – eine Kaffeekanne, eine Walnuss, ein Schuh … – ist voller interessanter Gegenstände, die erahnen lassen, was ihre Bewohner lieben und welcher Arbeit sie nachgehen. Was kann das sein? Neugierig und staunend taucht man in die farbenfrohen und detailreichen Bilderwelten von Maja P. Kastelic ein und ist mitten in der Geschichte, die von Dankbarkeit, Reichtum, Glück und vor allem von dem Geschenk der Freundschaft erzählt.

The postwoman Paulina has to hurry from house to house. She’s carrying a pile of letters – for the ladybird, the cricket, the caterpillar, the mouse, the mole and the hedgehog. Each of them reads their letter, is delighted, and – one by one – leaves the house and sets off running. But where to? That’s a mystery. Each of their unusual homes – a coffee pot, a walnut, a shoe … – is full of interesting objects that give a clue as to what their inhabitants love and what work they do. What could it be? Curious and amazed, you immerse yourself in the colourful and detailed illustrated worlds of Maja P. Kastelic and find yourself right in the middle of the story, which tells of gratitude, wealth, happiness and, above all, the gift of friendship.

Maja P. Kastelic wurde in Slowenien geboren, wo sie Malerei, Philosophie und Visuelle Kunsttheorie studierte. Sie arbeitete einige Jahre als Restaurateurin von Fresken, bevor sie sich der Kinderbuchillustration widmete. Für ihr Erstlingswerk »A Boy and a House« wurde Maja P. Kastelic mit dem White Ravens Award ausgezeichnet, und ihre Arbeiten wurden für die Illustratoren-Ausstellung in Bologna ausgewählt.
Maja P. Kastelic was born in Slovenia, where she studied painting, philosophy and visual art theory. She worked for several years as a fresco restorer before turning her hand to children’s book illustration. Maja P. Kastelic was awarded the White Ravens Award for her debut work, "A Boy and a House", and her work was selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
